Being asked several times how I got the name “Oregonspiceman” I’d thought I would explain. You see up here in the great northwest we love to bar-b-que and I am at the top of the list. Even in the wet winters under my covered patio you will see me out there flipping meat, as well as vegetables, on a grill. Well a couple years ago I got bored and made up some seasonings then went over to my brothers house for the weekend and we experimented with these seasonings. He looked me in the eye and said “If you do not start marketing these I am going to take that book from you and do it myself”. So I did.
Starting out at the local farmers, and saturday markets I would set up and give out samples. People went crazy and I did all I could do to keep up with the demand. Having a successful drywall business it was hard for me to keep both going so after some serious thinking I decided to move and do the seasoning business full time. People would come up to me and ask me to make all sorts of specialty seasonings and dips for them, which I was happy to do.
Then some of the local vendors started to call me “The Spiceman”, knowing that if your peers give you a nickname it is suppose to be taken as a compliment. Which I did. Then more of my customers would say they would look for me on the internet under "Oregonspiceman" and could not find me. So I needed to get a website up and going. fast.
Now in the world of drywall a website is almost unheard of so I tried to hire people to help and twice they took the money and ran. Oh well experience is good. So I am trying real hard to get this website going so people can order from me in the winter time. So off I go, soon to get some quotes from local chefs who use my products, as well as adding more products..
Feel free to check it out, very simple and just in the begining stages.
